What’s new in the 2020 Sonata Hybrid?

One of the most incredible new features found in the 2020 Hyundai Sonata is its Active Shift Control technology. ASC was introduced to optimize the efficiency of your transmission by increasing the number of times the gear shifts are monitored per second. This enables the transmission to shift faster but also reduce the number of shifts by 30%.

“The development of the world’s first ASC technology is a remarkable innovation that incorporates precise motor control to an automatic transmission. It will not only save fuel but also provide a more fun driving experience for our customers.”

– KyoungJoon Chang, Vice President and head of Powertrain Control System Group, Hyundai Motor Group

Another awesome new feature found in the all-new 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is the Solar Roof System, which increases the driving range by recharging the hybrid battery and preventing unnecessary discharge. This leads to, essentially, 700 free miles per year.

As for fuel efficiency, the Blue trim level offers class-leading specs in both highway and combined fuel economy ratings. The Sonata Hybrid Blue achieves 50 miles per gallon through the city, 54 mpg on the highway and 52 mpg combined. Other trim levels achieve 45/51/47 mpg respectively.
