The 2018 model year saw the introduction of a new entry-level crossover to the Hyundai lineup, as the brand unveiled the Kona. The subcompact crossover was the latest in a string of introductions to the segments from brands all over the market, as the industry realized just how popular the class was growing. Now, Hyundai looks to be one of the first to take things a step further by introducing a mini crossover to their lineup, slightly smaller than a subcompact and the entry-level position. As you can see, the two vehicles are quite similar in size and space, but the Venue is a bit smaller. The only aspect in which the Venue could be considered larger is height, as it stands 0.6 inches taller than the Kona. But with a 3.2-inch smaller wheelbase, a 5.1-inch shorter length, and 1.2-inch thinner width, the Venue is a bit smaller overall.

That over course carries over into the cabin, though the Venue still offers plenty of space in its own right. The interior as a whole is 2.7 cu. ft. smaller, with the passengers having 2.2 cu. ft. less space and cargo having 0.5 cu. ft. less space. The biggest difference comes in max cargo capacity. Dropping the back-row seats flat opens up 13.9 cu. ft. less extra space for cargo in the Venue than the Kona.

If you’re looking for a versatile utility vehicle that offers the nimbleness of a car with the space of a small crossover, then look no further than the Hyundai Venue. Need a little more space? The Kona is a great choice as well. Give us a call with any questions you might have!
