Aerodynamic Exterior Design of the Hyundai Seven SUV Concept

SEVEN has an instinctively different aerodynamically clean silhouette than a typical SUV. The hood’s low leading edge, a single, streamlined roofline, and the lengthened wheelbase signal a marked departure from traditional SUVs powered by internal combustion engines. The aggressive attitude and imposing, rugged presence of SEVEN’s minimal forms juxtaposes their simple forms’ pure volume. Wheels with integrated Active Air Flaps assist SEVEN’s robust road presence, deploying or retracting depending on brake cooling or low-drag needs.

“The SEVEN concept demonstrates Hyundai’s creative vision and advanced technological development for our electrified mobility future, Its innovative interior space, eco-friendly powertrain and cutting-edge safety and convenience technologies reveal an exciting future for Hyundai SUV customers.”

José Muñoz, President and CEO, Hyundai Motor North America.

2022 Hyundai SEVEN SUV Concept rear profile

SEVEN’s interior design priority is space innovation, which allows our consumers more freedom than ever before. The wheelbase of SEVEN is 3.2 meters, thanks to its design to push the wheels outward as much as possible. The flat floor allows Hyundai to experiment with a different seat configuration than the usual arrangement. This results in a more fluid interior layout. The Pillarless coach doors also provide a majestic entry that leads to a warm interior with a new space dimension. The sleek roofline, extended wheelbase, and flat floor that continues to the third row bring up new possibilities for interior design, such as a premium lounge.
