It’s that time of year again… Halloween! Luckily, that means that we all have an excuse to put on our favorite costumes and celebrate spooky season with friends and family! Family Friendly Events

Boo at the Zoo

(Oct. 25, 5:30 p.m. to Oct. 27, 8:00 p.m.)

Boo at the Zoo is at the Brevard Zoo and is a spooktacular event with more than 30 treat stations, a DJ, Aunt Ivey’s House of Peculiar Things, a Boo Choo Train, fun games and a costume contest.

Kidtoberfest Event at Wickham Park

(Oct. 26, from 3:00 – 10:00 p.m.)

The 5th Annual Kidtoberfest Event is located at Wickham Park and has food trucks, candy, a free movie, costume contests, a hayride and t-shirt launches. The event is hosted by Brevard County South Area Parks & Recreation and K&H In-Home Care and Assistance.

Community Events

Treat or Treat

(Oct. 19, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.)

Located at Florida Tech, Treat or Treat is an event with age-appropriate haunted houses, outdoor games, bounce houses, a costume contest, a pumpkin patch and candy. Themes for the haunted houses include Fantasy Adventure, Blue Genie, Men in Black Suits, Jurassic Land and Scary Clown. The event is hosted by the Florida Tech Department of Residence Life.

Ghostly Gecko 5K

(Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m.)

The Ghostly Gecko 5K is a 3.1-mile race with a Li’l Goblins Kids’ Run with Zippy the Gecko, a Halloween costume contest for adults, a separate contest for kids, Halloween Trick or Treat bags for finishers and plenty of prizes! The 5K starts at Eau Galle Civic Center.

Downtown Melbourne Trick-or-Treat 

(Oct. 26, from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

Put on your favorite costume and head to Downtown Melbourne for trick-or-treating at downtown businesses. Look for a sign on the outside of the business that says, “Treat Stop” and go get some candy!

Candy Crawl at Melbourne Square

(Oct. 31, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.)

Spend your Halloween at the Melbourne Square Mall doing some trick-or-treating! Hurry in, because the first 500 kids dressed in their costumes will be able to decorate their own treat bag to load with treats.
