Interior and Exterior Changes to the 2018 Sonata
More specifically, the exterior now has LED daytime running lights, while LED headlamps are available. You may notice in the rear that the Hyundai badge is larger, and there seems to be a good reasons for this, as the badge now houses the trunk release button.
Looking deeper, Hyundai has refined the chassis for the 2018 model in order to improve handling. Drivers can expect improved steering response and feel. In addition, those who buy a Sonata with the 245-horsepower turbocharged engine will find that it is now paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, with ratio range added to the top and bottom output speeds, helping to deliver extra thrust from a stop.
Inside, the center stack and instrument panel have been redone to reflect the changes found on the outside of the vehicle. In addition to coming standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the 2018 model now has a USB port for the second row of seats. For those drivers who equip their vehicle with the available navigation system, the car will also offer bird’s eye view and traffic flow features.
