We were just talking about some Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards Winners last month, but our excitement over awards was mild then compared to now. Why is that? Because we are pleased to say that a Hyundai vehicle has officially won the 2021 North American Car of the Year award! Which vehicle earned perhaps the most prestigious award a sedan can win in the automotive industry? The all-new 2021 Hyundai Elantra of course!

How did the 2021 Hyundai Elantra earn the award?
This is officially the 28th year that the North American Car of the Year award has been around. Each year, it’s selected by an expansive panel of judges consisting of automotive journalists throughout the United States and Canada. The winner is selected after passing through a series of three different votes in which the jurors look at aspects like leadership within the vehicle’s segment, how innovative the vehicle is, its design, safety and handling, how satisfied existing drivers are with the vehicle as well as its value for the dollar.
This year, over 40 vehicles were evaluated, and in the end the 2021 Hyundai Elantra defeated its fellow finalists the Nissan Sentra and Genesis G80 – yes, this means technically the Hyundai Motor Company had two different finalists this year!
