2019 Hyundai Accent vs 2019 Toyota Yaris

While the Elantra and Sonata might be the more popular sedans on the lineup, we want to make sure you don’t forget about the subcompact Hyundai Accent. As the entry level sedan, it might not offer as many features or as impressive specifications as some of the other sedans on the market, but it makes a great option for those drivers looking for something truly small to drive around town. It makes a great first-time car, and it’s a force to be reckoned with within its own segment.

We thought we’d prove that last claim by highlighting exactly how the model measures up to one of its biggest competitors, so we’re going to pit the 2019 Hyundai Accent vs 2019 Toyota Yaris. The Accent has actually been on the market five years longer than the Yaris, but both of these stalwart entry sedans have plenty to offer.

Advantages of the 2019 Accent

A simple glance at the table above shows that, while the two subcompact sedans are quite comparable to one another, each has its clear advantages. The first row takes a look at power, which is key to delivering a fun and enjoyable driving experience. Offering an extra 24 horsepower, then, is a pretty big advantage, wouldn’t you say? Of course, if saving money at the gas station is more important to you than having a good time, maybe the Yaris would be the superior choice. It gets an extra 3 miles to the gallon combined than the Accent.

When it comes to space, the two are nearly identical. The Accent does technically have a leg up, but we’re not sure you’d even be able to fit an additional grocery bag in the extra 0.2 cubic feet of space it offers. When it comes to seats, both offer 5. If you prefer power to efficiency, then the Accent would make an excellent choice. Give us a call to schedule a test drive today!
