2020 Hyundai Kona Melbourne FL

Although it has only been on the market for the past couple of years, the Hyundai Kona has already made a huge impact and counts itself as one of the most popular subcompact crossovers available. For the new model year, the 2020 Hyundai Kona available in Melbourne FL didn’t undergo too many significant changes, but there were a few subtle adjustments and enhancements about which we’re quite excited.

We figured we’d go over what’s new in the Kona while also highlighting a few of the specs & features that continue to make it such a great option. The Kona was just introduced for the 2018 model year, which means this is only its third year on the lineup. Even still, it’s one of the most popular Hyundai models available, and it makes a great choice for almost any type of driver.

Specs & Features of the 2020 Kona

Let’s start by going over what’s new in the subcompact crossover. For starters, the newly developed Smart Cruise Control driver-assistive safety technology has been added to the Ultimate trim level. Speaking of trim levels, there is a bit of sad news, as the Iron man Edition will no longer be available. It was a one-and-done special edition trim level that was an exciting offer, but it won’t be returning for 2020. The Limited trim level, however, when equipped with the Sunset Orange exterior color choice will now feature orange interior accents if you choose to opt for them.

Finally, the SEL with Tech Package has become its own trim level now called SEL Plus. Both the 4.2” multi-information display and wireless device charging platform have moved down from the Ultimate trim to be available in the SEL Plus trim as well. That just about covers everything that’s new, but we quickly wanted to cover some of its highlights as well.

The 2020 Hyundai Kona is powered by either a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine capable of generating 147 horsepower a more powerful 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder that can generate 175 horsepower. Regardless of engine, the Kona offers 19.2 cubic feet of space behind its rear seats, or 45.8 cu. ft. with those seats folded flat. That’s plenty of space for a subcompact crossover!
