Note that when we talk about either vehicle, we are discussing the standard model. It is the SE trim for the Palisade and the Base trim for the Ascent. The other trim options offered for each are the SEL and Limited for the Palisade and the Premium, Limited, and Touring trims for the Ascent. Certain specifications may change as a different trim is selected. Below, we will discuss the differences and similarities regarding each SUV’s starting MSRP, engine power, transmission, and the maximum interior cargo volume, so be sure to check that out!

The starting MSRP of both the Hyundai Palisade and the Subaru Ascent are similar but the Palisade gives the better deal for its drivers. The engine on the Palisade is much stronger than the engine on the Ascent. It’s important to note that every trim level gets the same engine on both vehicles, so the choice there should be an easy one!
Regarding the transmissions, the Ascent has a CVT transmission while the Palisade is automatic. As a CVT transmission takes away the feeling of the gears shifting, it can make for a rather boring experience as many drivers love to hear the gears. As the Palisade keeps the gears, it can create an engaging experience for its drivers. Finally, the maximum cargo space for both the Hyundai Palisade and the Subaru Ascent are nearly identical.
