There is a lot of legacy behind the Sonata nameplate. It is the oldest and longest-running vehicle on the Hyundai lineup, having been first introduced all the way back in 1985; yet, at the same time, it’s one of the freshest as it just entered a new generation – its eighth – last year for 2020. Now, the 2021 Hyundai Sonata is available here in Melbourne FL and we’re excited for the next step in the evolution. While little has changed in the eight generation’s second year, a pretty big development was revealed for the new model year.
What’s the development? 2021 will mark the first year that the Hyundai Sonata will have its own N Line trim level. Details on the new 2021 Hyundai Sonata N Line haven’t been revealed yet at the time of this page’s creation, but we’ll be sure to fill you in as soon as they are. It promises to be the most powerful Hyundai Sonata ever in its 35 years of existence.
Hyundai did also adjust a few things for the new model year, three things to be exact. First, the SEL Plus previously came standard with a set of 18” wheels but will now come standard with a set of 19” wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires. Second, the 4-way-adjustable passenger seat that was only available on the Limited trim level last year is now a 6-way power-adjustable passenger seat.
Finally, the new Safe Exit Warning safety technology has been added as a standard feature in the SEL, SEL Plus and Limited trim levels. This new technology uses the same radar sensors that analyze your blind spot after trigger the turn signal, this time to warn you or your passengers if traffic is coming while you’re parallel parked. This should greatly reduce the risk of a passing car taking off your door or worse.
